You are invited into Crown of Mary’s next prayer circle — an opportunity to learn spiritually, but also to open yourself to a direct experience of the light of Christ, through the Blessed Mother Mary.
Together, we allow the stories of the Gospel to come alive in our hearts. We visit them not just to understand them, but to encounter them — with the intention of awakening a deeper relationship with Mary’s life and Christ’s teaching.
This gathering is open to all. No one will be turned away. Everyone is welcome. Come as you are.
At the heart of our journey are the 12 Stars of Mary’s Crown — twelve sacred moments that reveal her extraordinary story and the divine light that continues to shine through her.
Our reflection this month will focus on the Sixth Star of Mary’s Crown – the Presentation, where Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the Temple.
The Presentation at the Temple is a powerful moment when a child is brought before God. In many ways, it’s similar to a baptism or a naming ceremony today — a moment where a life is blessed, dedicated, and witnessed by the wider community with loving intention.
When Mary and Joseph present Jesus at the Temple, something significant happens.
Not only do they follow the sacred customs of their faith — including ritual purification — they also make a personal offering to God. This isn’t about guilt or wrongdoing, but about obedience, humility, and consciously placing a life into God’s hands.
What’s striking is that, in this moment, two prophets independently recognise that Jesus is no ordinary child. Simeon and Anna see something others don’t. Simeon goes on to tell Mary that her son will be responsible for the rise and fall of many — and that a sword will pierce her own soul.
Mary knows, deep down, that what he says is true. This moment marks the birth of what we call Our Lady of Sorrows — the image of Mary we go to with our deepest grief and pain. Not the Mary who removes suffering, but the Mary who meets us within it.
As usual, we’ll open our time together with our three-part prayer, holding space for anyone — or anything — that needs extra light, care, or support in their life right now.
During this live call, we’ll return to the Gospel account in Luke 2:22 and begin to develop our mystical eyes — learning how to read between the lines of the Gospel, noticing what is said, what is unsaid, and what is revealed beneath the surface.
From there, we’ll enter the scene through a guided meditation, inviting Mary, Joseph, and Christ to be present with us — allowing the story to move from something we read into something we experience. This is an opportunity to see through the eye of the heart, not just the mind.
We’ll also explore the sacrifice Mary and Joseph make — offering doves instead of a lamb — and why this matters, especially in light of Jesus later being recognised as the Lamb of God, and how his life ultimately transforms the meaning of sacrifice itself.
We’ll sit with the reality that being called to change the world, even when the call is God-given, can carry sorrow as well as purpose.
We’ll close by reflecting on the Sorrowful Heart of Mary and how we can pray with her in those moments of grief and difficulty that life inevitably brings.
In Crown of Mary, we do not only come to feel the presence of Mary. We come to sit with the mysteries of our own lives. Through prayer and meditation, we allow the Gospel to come alive within us — not just as a story from long ago, but as a living invitation to widen our inner vision, to see through the eyes of Christ, and to open ourselves to love, support, and what is still possible.
